  •  Acupuncture is a relaxing and gentle treatment. The needles are very fine, and many people feel little to no sensation when they are inserted. You may experience a mild, calming sensation as your body responds to the treatment, which is a sign that the acupuncture is working. Our goal is to ensure your comfort throughout the entire session, allowing you to fully relax and benefit from the healing process. Many patients report falling asleep and taking an acu-nap.

  • During your first visit to GCA, you can expect a comprehensive consultation and a thorough assessment of your medical history. Your acupuncturist will work closely with you to establish the most effective treatment strategy tailored to your specific health needs. Your initial appointment will last 65 minutes and will include a detailed intake process and acupuncture treatment. It may include our infra-red heat lamp, guasha, moxabustion or cupping therapy depending on your practitioners assessment of your health needs.

  • An initial acupuncture appointment lasts 65 minutes, allowing ample time for assessment and treatment. Follow-up acupuncture appointments are 45 minutes.

  • Your practitioner will develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs, and results can vary. Many patients experience immediate relief, while others may need more time to address underlying issues. Generally the longer your condition presents, the longer the treatment plan.

  • Yes, we recommend eating a balanced meal at least two hours before your appointment, or a small snack 20-30 minutes before your appointment.

  • For acupuncture, we recommend wearing loose-fitting, comfortable clothing that allows access to your lower legs, arms, and abdomen. For massage, you’ll be undressed to your comfort level and fully draped during the session.

  • Yes, we specialize in optimizing fertility with acupuncture. We’ll work closely with you to create a personalized plan based on where you are in the process.

  • Yes, absolutely! Acupuncture can be beneficial during all phases of your cycle. In fact, treatment is tailored based on where you are in your cycle to best support hormone balance, blood flow, and overall reproductive health. If you’re unsure of timing, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered and will guide you.

  • Yes. We are in Network with Independence Blue Cross and Aetna. check our insurance page here to verify your benefits before your initial appointment.

  • If your insruance plan covers acupuncture, they will cover musculoskeletal-related pains:

    • Chronic neck pain

    • Low back pain

    • Pain from osteoarthritis of the knee/hip

    • Tension Headaches and Migraines

    • Nausea due to pregnancy

    • Post-operative and chemotherapy-induced nausea, vomiting
